A valve end user must decide if pressure relief is necessary in
their situation as it is not possible for Velan to determine the end
users needs. Pressure relief mitigates the problems of over-pressurization
and pressure locking. However, two common forms of pressure relief
result in the valve sealing in only one direction. If the valve has
an internal hole in its disc or an equalizing pipe with no equalizing
valve, it will only seal in one direction. Consult your project drawings
to verify that this is the case. |
