Teflon packing rings cause chemical attack at temperatures
above 600-700°F (315-375°C). |

Remove the packing rings and inspect the packing chamber
for scratches and grooves. Fine grooves can be polished with an emery
cloth. |

Replace the packings with Velan supplied non-Teflon
